Allan Bennett
This year's President Allan Bennett is one of the Association's leading producers. He started farming in partnership with his father in the early Sixties and shortly afterwards they began breeding Welsh Halfbreds. Allan took over the farm in 1971 and now farms two holdings, one at Abbeycwmhir and the other at Llanbister, in partnership with his son John. Also working on the farm is one of his grandsons, Andrew. Between them they run cattle and around 1,000 sheep on their 400 acres which rise to 1,350 feet. They aim to grow as much of their stock feed as possible and also do some contract work. The family has always been noted for the quality if its stock and the 200 plus yearling Welsh Halfbreds they sell each year are always among the price leaders. Allan has been a community councillor for more than 40 years and is also a well-known judge of Welsh Halfbreds and other breeds.
Patrick Tantrum

As our Field Officer Pat brings a wealth of experience of all aspects of the farming industry in addition to his extensive knowledge of Welsh Halfbreds which he has been involved with since the early days. Based near Llandrindod Wells, he is a well-known face to hundreds of farmers through his work for various cattle and sheep societies and as Chief Livestock Cattle Steward at the Royal Welsh Show and the Smallholders Show. He is also the Cattle Director at the Welsh Winter Fair.
Now semi-retired he is still buying and selling some Welsh Halfbreds.
